The Safe Signal® has a patented, two-sided, special reflective surface design. The silver mirror side surface is a daytime signal mirror, by reflecting the sun's rays to a distant point for location recognition or code signaling.  In daytime, use Safe Signal as a standard signal mirror to create an angled reflection in front of you, moving the reflection upward and outward from your position.

The enhanced red mirror finish is optically designed to be a light reflective surface at night, to attract attention of rescuers, or to help members of your party find you in the dark.
To generate a light source against the special red surface, use a focused flashlight beam angled onto the red-mirrored surface to create an extremely visible flashing beacon that can be seen up to 3 miles away. Moving the flashlight from side to side across the ultra bright red mirror creates a super bright flare signal. Made from shatterproof polycarbonate resin.
